Janet's Story

CUTLER - Surrounded by her family, Janet passed away quietly March 14, 2014. She was born April 17, 1934, to the late Lehman and Babe Bryant.

Janet was a 1952 graduate of Washington Academy. Janet was an incredibly hard worker all of her life. She worked various jobs including the blueberry and clam factories, selling shoes, cashiering at the Shop and Save and cleaning houses. She also worked many years for Flo Hanscom at her various retail shops. None of these jobs were as important as raising her three children.

In September of 1960 she married her loving husband of 54 years, Ralph Richardson. Together, they lived in Cutler and raised three children, Barry Radley of Cutler, Dwain Radley of Cutler and Corey Richardson (Daphne) of Auburn.

Janet is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Tracie (Don) Anderson, Darcie Radley, Jessica (Neight) Coffin, Jeremy Richardson, Justin (Heidi) Richardson, Julia Richardson, Jared Richardson, and Jillian Richardson; and four great-grandchildren Gavin and Lillie (Darcie) and Aylie and Dylan (Tracie). She is also survived by one brother, Arthur Bryant. She was predeceased by her other brother, Bill Bryant. Janet had many special cousins that she kept in contact with from California to Florida to Maine.

When Janet made friends, she made them for life and was very loyal and giving. She devoted her time and energy to her family and friends and we will all feel and empty place in our hearts because of her absence. Janet had many animals that she loved dearly over the years but her cat, Sassy, held a dear place in her heart and is missing her human mother.

A memorial to celebrate her beautiful life will be held later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Ark Animal Shelter, 60 Barber Lane, P.O. Box 276, Cherryfield, ME 04622, in honor of her deep love for animals.
