Jane's Story

BANGOR - Jane Annette Urquhart 58, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2015 with family at her side. She was born on January 17, 1957, the daughter of Lucille Grant and James Cogswell.

Jane was in many ways a very private person. She worked for Dorothea Dix psychiatric hospital for over 13 years. She loved her work, the patients and the people she worked with. She always enjoyed her luncheon dates with all her friends from work. Jane was diagnosed with cancer 2 1/2 years ago, and she fought with bravery and determination. During that time she spent it with family and friends and doing things on her "bucket list" which included going on road trips, spending time by the ocean, going on a cruise and eating all the foods she loved. She saw life with a different set of eyes and understood that life is precious and that the end of her life was going to be cut shorter than expected and that made her appreciate the little things in life even more.

She is survived by her mother Lucille of Searsport, her daughter Melissa of Orono, her son Paul Jr. And his wife Terri of Bangor. 4 Grandchildren Aarynn, Jaiden, Klohe, and Jaxson all who she loved very much. She has 5 siblings James and his friend Sophie of Vinal Haven, Mark of Bangor, David and his wife Tammy of Texas, and sister Linda and her husband Eric of Monson. She is pre-deceased by her father James and her brother Michael. She also had a very special friend David that she adored. She will be sadly missed by all her friends and family.

Jane chose not to have funeral services. A gathering for her family and friends to celebrate her life will be determined at a later date and time.
