BANGOR AND CALAIS - Jane E. Treworgy, 57, died October 21, 2015, at her home in Bangor after a long illness and a brave fight with severe mental illness. She was born November 2, 1957, at the Calais Regional Hospital. Jane was the precious daughter of her father, Robert and mother, Barbara, now deceased.
Jane is survived by a sister, Elaine Jacques of Auburn; two brothers, Paul Treworgy and his wife, Janet of Topsham and Dr. Scott Treworgy and his wife, Darla of Yarmouth; several nieces and nephews and 5 great-nieces and nephews.

She also took courses at the University of Maine at Farmington and Machias. She continued her education in Chicago, IL where she completed the Basic Nurse Assistant Training Program.
Jane was a happy and energetic woman before her mental illness developed in her early 20's. She was active in the drama club in high school, school choir and loved being a cheerleader. She was also voted by fellow contestants in the International Festival Beauty Contest as "Miss Congeniality". The family owes a special depth of gratitude to the ACT Team at CHCS and especially to Brenda Peterson, Jane's case manager. Brenda was vigilant as an advocate for Jane for many years. She involved our family and kept us informed of her care and progress and setbacks. We also want to thank Hospice Home Care for allowing her the dignity of dying at home. Her journey was swift and peaceful. The knowledge and compassionate understanding prepared the family and Jane's wishes were honored.
