TREMONT - Jane Mae Eaton Daigle, 67, passed away December 15, 2014 in Bar Harbor. She was born January 9, 1947 in Bar Harbor, the daughter of George Linwood and Donna Phose (Bickford) Eaton.
Living in Seal Cove all her married life, she was married to her late husband, Richard Sr. for 40 years and brought up two sons, Richard J. Daigle Jr. and Roger W. Daigle.
Jane worked for many years as a hairdresser for Mary Kessler in Southwest Harbor in her earlier years and later she and her husband ran their own solid waste business, known as "Daigle Disposal". She later worked in healthcare at Sonogee and then went into private care.
One of her passions was her beloved lodge, "The Rebekah" which she joined in Southwest Harbor in 1967 and stayed active until recently. In 2009 she was the only "Rebekah" left on MDI, as the lodge was closed.
Jane enjoyed ball room dancing with her husband at the American Legion Hall in Southwest Harbor on Saturday nights and ball rooms on cruise ships clear to the Bahamas.
She is survived by her sons; Richard J. Daigle Jr. of Augusta and Roger W. Daigle of Surf City, NC; four grandchildren Merena Routhier, Savannah Jane,Trevor James, Cody Karl, all of Hancock; one great-granddaughter, Elssia Joy of Orland; One brother, George D. Eaton and wife, Patty and daughter Andrea Jane from Trenton; brother-in-laws, Robert and wife, Beth and son Ryan of Southwest Harbor, Thomas A. Daigle and daughters, Christina and Heather of Virginia; niece, Megan of Hermon and nephews, Robert and Phillip Daigle and wife, Lisa O'Rouke of North Hampton, NH; brother-in-law, Michael of Bar Harbor; and God son, Thomas Conary Jr. of Trenton.
There will be a private gathering for family and friends, at Hillrest Cemetery, West Tremont, 2:00PM, Saturday, December 20, 2014.
