Jamie's Story

CORINTH - Jamie Lynn Broad, 38, passed away peacefully September 17, 2015 at home after her long battle with cancer, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Jamie was born August 9, 1977 in Lewiston, the daughter of Edward James Miller and Gaynor Ann Whitney. She attended Maranacook Community High School and Central High School, graduating in 1995.

She worked at Blue Seal Feeds in Bangor for many years until she transitioned into the eye care field, starting at Smart Eye Care and most recently at Eastern Maine Eye Associates, both in Bangor. Jamie gained many close and lasting friendships throughout the years.

She was a free spirit, never wanting to impose on others. She enjoyed playing soccer and softball, the Red Sox, her flower gardens and being with friends and family. Her greatest joy in life was her son, Coby. She loved his passion for baseball and the outdoors, as well as watching him participate in sports.

In 2010 Jamie met the love of her life, Russell. They spent the next five years nurturing a relationship built on love, laughter, a growing faith in God, and a deep devotion to one another. They were both members of the Bangor Baptist Church.

Jamie is survived by her husband, Russell; son Coby; step-daughter Faith; her father Edward Miller and his wife Joanna; her mother Gaynor Whitney; 2 brothers, Jason and his wife Abigail and their children Caleah and Elora and Tyler and his wife Meghan; many special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
