James's Story

VAN BUREN - James J. Vaillancourt, 60, died unexpectedly Monday, April 13, 2015. He was born November 29, 1954, in Grand Falls, NB, Canada, a son of the Fernande (Lafrance) Vaillancourt and the late Gerard Vaillancourt.

Jim volunteered with his brothers at Vaillancourt Transport and former Vaillancourt Trucking, and assisted his father during his younger years in the trucking business. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #1635. He enjoyed spending time riding 4-wheeler and circling the lake on jet ski. Most of all Jim had a heart of gold and loved spending quality time with his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by: his mother, Fernande (Lafrance) Vaillancourt of Van Buren; eight siblings, David Vaillancourt of Van Buren, Michael Vaillancourt and his wife, Patty of Freeport, Larry Vaillancourt and his wife, Enola of Van Buren, Judy Abbott and her husband, Edward of Lyndeborough, NH, Mona Tatro and her long-time companion, Walter Paszul of Belmont, NH, Danny Vaillancourt of Dedham, Gary Vaillancourt and his wife, Diane, and Michelle Rioux and her husband, Gabriel, all of Hamlin; his many nieces and nephews, Kris, Kenny, Travis, Amanda, Richard, Candace, Krystal, Amy, Keith, Kelly, Tony, Kristen, Victoria, Chantal, Peter, and Paul; and good friends, Ken Lajoie and Dean Cormier.

Jim was predeceased by his father, Gerard Vaillancourt, in 2002.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Saturday morning, 9:00 - 10:45 AM at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
