BUCKSPORT - James (Billy) Lydick, musician, father, uncle, brother and life long friend, died on April 3, 2016 at the age of 71 at EMMC after a long battle with his health.
He is survived by his 2 sisters, Gail Kelley, whom he lived with and who took care of him for 7 years, and Gwendolyn Gray; brother, Lyndon Lydick and wife Norma; 3 daughters, Ivy Clark, Erika Lydick, and Mona Kidder; 2 special friends that were more like brothers, Bill Allen and Dexter Smith; and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his mother, Clara Bowden; father, James Lydick; and 2 sisters, Jackie Manuel and Mary Herbest.
Billy was born on April 17, 1944 and served in the Army and went to Vietnam. He was a well loved man by many. He loved to fish, hunt, and play on his computer. He lived for his music, especially playing and building his steel guitars. He will especially be missed by Eleksys Murray and Ashley Worotnik, whether it be him greeting them at the table after school, singing random songs, or sitting with them laughing at nothing just to hear them giggle.
A memorial service will be held for friends and family exactly the way he wanted it, at his home, with a BBQ and music sometime in May. This will be announced.
