James's Story

Buxton - James W. Fredericks, 69, passed away on September 15, 2016, at Maine's Veteran's Home in Scarborough from a hard battle with lung cancer with family members by his side. He was born in Bangor, Maine, son of James A. and Marie (Crawford) Fredericks.
Jim graduated from Brewer High School, then enlisted in the U.S. Army with timed served in South Korea. He was employed by Maine Masonry Co. for most of his entire career. In 1986, Jim and his family moved from Orrington to Gorham, Maine, where they built their second home. Jim loved camping, fishing and boating with his family and also enjoyed spending recent winters in Florida.
Jim was predeceased by his parents; a brother, George; and his second wife, Nancy (Little) Fredericks. He is survived by his ex-wife and long-life friend, Faye Fredericks; three sons, Tom and wife, Stacia, Troy and wife, Jessica, and Nathan and wife, Becky; six grandsons; a sister, Ann and husband, Kenny Fitz; a brother, Larry Fredericks; one aunt, Maria Bradbury; two nieces, one nephew and several cousins.
A family and close friends burial service will be held at Marston Cemetery in Orrington, ME, on Friday, September 23, 2016, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his name be sent to the Maine's Veteran's Home Activities Fund, 290 U.S. Route One, Scarborough, ME 04074. Arrangements are under the guidance of Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland, ME.
