BRADLEY - James Robert Applegate, 72, died peacefully March 20, 2015 at Maine Veterans Home, Bangor following a long illness. He was born in Lakewood, NJ, July 12, 1942 the son of Robert and Violet (Jennings) Applegate.
After graduation from Toms River High School, Jim enlisted in the US Air Force. He retired from Georgia Pacific Mill in 2000.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Priscilla (Shorette) Applegate of Bradley; two sisters Marianne Daniels of NC, and Patricia Deuel and her husband Tom of NJ; two brothers-in-law Joel Shorette and his wife Ruth Ann of Bradley and Dale Shorette and his wife Lynn of Milford; a special great niece Keely Shorette several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Robert, sister Judith, and brother-in-law David Shorette.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Maine Veterans Home D Unit for their wonderful compassionate care. A private burial service will be held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery, Bradley.
