Jacqueline's Story

SEARSPORT - Jacqueline L. Manuel, 77, of Searsport, died peacefully in her sleep due to cancer, December 11, 2015, with her loving husband by her side. Born August, 24, 1938 on Verona Island, she was the daughter of James E. Lydick Sr. and Clara (Bridges) Bowden.

Jacqueline enjoyed taking care of her family, watching her grandchildren grow, baking, candy making, and loved BINGO. She was someone that would help a person out when she could either by giving advice, running an errand, giving them a ride, or just simply being there.

She is survived by her loving husband and caregiver, Joseph R. Manuel, step-daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Todd Clement, grandchildren, Natasha and Austin, brothers, Lyndon Lydick and Billy Lydick, sisters, Gwen Gray and Gail Kelley, brother and sister-in-laws, Donald and Bea Manuel and their family, Chester and Cindy Manuel and their family, and Nancy and Donald Rogers and their family, several nieces, nephews and cousins, along with many friends she had met along the way.

She is predeceased by her parents, a son, Randy Doughty, a sister, Mary Herbest, and a step-son, James E. Lydick Jr.

Jacqueline's family would like to thank all friends, neighbors, BINGO friends and extended family that offered help and support during her illness and a special thank you to Dr. Peabody, Dr. Connelly, and Nurse Jennifer H. and nurse P.T. and Nurse Deb H. for their care of Jacqueline.
