Jacqueline's Story

ELLSWORTH - Jacqueline Viola (Woods) Biggart passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in Ellsworth, ME. She was born and raised in the middle of the White Mountains in Lincoln, NH on October 22, 1928, the daughter of the late James Woods and Elizabeth (Smith) Woods. Jackie was the youngest of 6 children. She earned her associates degree in liberal arts from Mount Ida College and she continued her passion for the arts thru painting, music, and her love of crafting. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and will be lovingly remembered for the many happy holidays she created for the ones she loved. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her loyalty and devotion to the ones she loved was immeasurable. People were drawn to Jackie because of her kind and compassionate personality. Jackie gave generously to many charitable organizations and was especially involved with St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

She is survived by her daughter Paula Biggart of Ellsworth; her son Garth Biggart of Lecanto, FL; grandchildren Jennifer Thompson Bailey and Bruce of New Castle, NB, Chris Thompson and Shannon of Fredericton, NB, and Jamie Miller of Ellsworth and great-grandchildren Curtis, Brooks, Madison, and Lexi.

Jackie was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Samuel Biggart and her daughter-Nancy Thompson.
