LARGO, FL - Jacqueline Ames "Jackie", born 3/19/40 in Fort Kent ME to Philip and Mary Ann Rioux, passed away suddenly on 9/7/14 in Largo, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 52 years, Charles Frederick Ames. She is survived by her daughter Lisa (Scott) Stillman of Peachtree City GA and son John (Shari) Ames of Lake Elmo MN, grandchildren Zachary, Taylor, Alex, Madison, and Elizabeth, sisters Lorrette (Roland) Simard of Plainville CT, Lorraine Lozier of Dover-Foxcroft ME, and Betty (Gilman) Michaud of Windham ME, and by many nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Fort Kent High School, had a long year career as a medical lab technician, and retired from MaineGeneral Hospital after working there for over 30 years. She loved gardening and animals, and led the exercise program in her community. She spent her summers in Fort Kent, Maine and her winters in Largo, Florida where she and Fred eventually became year-round residents.
Interment will take place at Bay Pines National Cemetery on November 7 at 1:30 pm, with a celebration of life following at the Fairway Village Community Center in Largo.
