Jackqueline's Story

GARLAND - Jackqueline Howell Chadbourne, 78, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, November 17, 2014, at Mayo Regional Hospital. She was born in Harmony on August 21, 1936.

It was in Harmony that she met and wed Archie Chadbourne also of Harmony. A short time after their marriage, they moved to Texas where the first of their nine children was born. Jackqueline was a devoted wife and mother. Her family warmly remembers the many holidays and family gatherings she hosted believing that "if you can get people together, it's good." She was a wonderful homemaker and her family appreciated her delicious cooking—especially her fudge, donuts, whoopie pies and baked beans. She was kind and never said a negative word about anyone. She enjoyed flowers, walks, her dog, cats, and reading the Bible and newspaper every day. She also enjoyed her trips to NY and NJ to visit family, and which also included visiting the local sights like the Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty. After raising her family she worked for many years as a CNA at Hibbard's Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft.
