Jack's Story

JACKSONVILLE, FL - Jack M. London, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2015 of natural causes. Jack was born Jan. 29, 1929, in Monticello, ME, the son of Walter D. and Abbie (Martin). He grew up in Monticello and later moved to Houlton, then Veazie and eventually retired in Zephyrhills, Fla.

Jack cherished his family and the time he spent with them and enjoyed traveling with them on vacation to Hawaii and California. Jack enjoyed tinkering and doing home improvements and was always eager to help anyone at the drop of a hat. Jack started out his career as a truck driver, then became a heavy equipment operator and was a proud member of the Local 4 Operating Engineers. He loved to sit and swap stories for hours of his days driving truck.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife Emelie (Grendell) of Island Falls, ME and has son-in-law Maxwell (Pookie) Bishop of Key West, FL. He is survived by his children, Bonnie Bishop of Hudson, FL.; Martin London and his wife, Gail, of Hampstead, N.H.; a grandson, Tyler London of Hampstead, N.H.; three step-grandsons, Graham, Jared and Brent Bacheller of Hampstead, N.H.; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his siblings, Donald, Beatrice and Pauline. Graveside services will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Houlton, ME on July 2, 2015 at 4:00 PM and a reception to immediately follow.
