Izeldia's Story

EAST MILLINOCKET AND LINCOLN - Izeldia "Ike" Tapley, 79, went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, January 24, 2016 after a 5 year battle with Alzheimers. Ike was born in Bangor on August 7, 1936 to the late Helen E. Giggey of Bangor, Me.

Ike was an active member of the East Millinocket First Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing her solos at Sunday morning service. Ike was also involved in Bible Study, Women's Prayer group, The Mission Circle, and the Medway Chapter DAV Women's Auxiliary. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting afghans, dolls and baby sets. Ike's biggest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

Ike is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Ralph Tapley, Sr.; three daughters, Cathy and husband Jim Boynton of Old Town, Me., Diane Richard of Houlton, Me. and Helen LaPlante and Rick Hafford of Waterville, Me.; five sons, Larry Tapley and wife Jeri of Fl., Edward Tapley of RI, Robert Clark of Tx., Michael Tapley and wife Janice of RI and Ralph Tapley, Jr. and wife Beverly of Lincoln, Me. She is also survived by one sister, Wenda Pelkey of Bangor, Me. and one brother, Carl White of Levant, Me. Ike was predeceased by her mother, Helen Giggey, two sisters, five brothers and two baby boys.

Friends may call 12-1 pm, Wednesday, January 27th at the East Millinocket First Baptist Church with funeral services at 1pm officiated by Pastor Tim Bossie.
