IRVING's Story

DOVER - Irving Harvey Mott, 83, Epsom, NH died January 4, 2015.

Irving was born on September 24, 1931 in West Enfield, ME - son of Eva and Stanley Mott. Irving was a Purple Heart recipient having served in the Army from 1950 - 1956 during the Korean War. He enjoyed travelling and loved visiting his fellow Veterans at the V.F.W. and American Legion. Irving was very good at playing cribbage and never turned a friendly game down. Like many snowbirds, he also made his way to Florida where he took his first skydiving jump at the age of 69 with his special nephew, Steven.

Irving is survived by his daughters, Sandra Michaud of Dedham, ME; Debbie Drost of Dover, NH; and son Billy Babbitt of Lincoln, ME. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Donny Mott of Bristol, CT; Ann-Marie Ward and husband Mike of Dover, NH; George Drost III and wife Theresa of Orford, NH; and James Irving Babbitt of Lincoln. Irving had 3 great-grandchildren, Destin Butler, Abigail Ward and Christopher Walters all of Dover, NH. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Powers of East Millinocket, ME and brother Stanley Mott of Yuma, AZ. In addition to his parents, Irving was predeceased by brother Donald Mott and sisters Joan Dube and Greta Littlefield. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that were special to him.

There will be a spring burial at the Veterans Cemetery in Augusta
