TOPSFIELD - Irene S. "Bam" Hunnewell, 92, died May 3, 2014 in Lincoln. She was born in Codyville, Maine Sept 30, 1921, the daughter of Lloyd and M. Angie Severance.
She graduated from Woodland High School and Central Maine General Hospital School of Nursing in 1942. She was a member of Topsfield American Legion Auxiliary and Topsfield Congregational Church.
Irene is survived by two daughters, Claudia McLellan and her husband, Roddie of Merrill and Beth Rushton and her husband, Curtis of Topsfield; four grandchildren, Amy Lorenzo and her husband, Rob of Hampden, Scott McLellan and his wife, Kristie of Monson, Travis Rushton and Brandi Bright and her daughter, Jasmine of Spokane, WA, and Jerrod Rushton and his wife, Janice of Cornwall VT; seven great-grandchildren, Brooke Rushton, Nicholas, Jacob, and Joshua Lorenzo, Jayden and Jordyn Rushton, and Ryan McLellan; one brother, Elwin Severance of Princeton; a special sister-in-law, Dorothy Rhoades of Westminster, MA; a special niece, Sharon Bala of Topsfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard in 2002, her parents, and two brothers, Raymond and Neil Severance. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Colonial Acres Health Care Facility for their love, care and support.
