Ida's Story

MILLINOCKET - Ida M. (Voisine) Streams, 71, cherished wife of Phillip J. Streams, passed away peacefully, Wednesday afternoon, January 21st, 2015 at Orono Commons, with family by her side. Ida was born November 30th, 1943 to Roland and Natalie (Bartlett) Voisine of Millinocket. She is predeceased by her father Roland Voisine, her daughter Becky Arsenault, and her Grandson, Derek McLeod. She left behind 2 daughters; April A. James and her husband Peter, their children; Phillip Julian (PJ),and his son Ashby James, Amanda, and Rachael, Debbie Arsenault-York and her husband Chris, and their children Chris Dunbar and Joshua Doane. 2 sisters; Nora Doolin, and Gail Voisine, 2 brothers; Roland Jr. and his Wife Lorrie, and Robert Voisine. 2 special Brother-in-laws, David Streams and his wife Nancy, Ray Streams, and many special nieces and nephews.

Ida was a very active member in the VFW, American Legion and the Elks in Millinocket for a large part of her life. She was an excellent cook and loved to spend her time entertaining with family and friends. Especially her neighborhood clam feeds after a camping trip to Hadley Point. She served on the Millinocket Recreation Department for many years and enjoyed helping organize school dances and town parades. She was loved by many, and will be fondly missed.

In accordance with her wishes, a Celebration of her Life will be held Saturday, January 31st, 1-4pm at the American Legion Hall in Millinocket.
