Holly A. (Allen) Johansen, 52, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Martin Memorial on July 29, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born in Millinocket, on August 25, 1963, to Leon Eugene Allen and Dolores Dodo Higgins Allen.
She is survived by her loving niece, Heather (Neal) Nicely and her family, William, Max and Jadon Nicely, of Fleming Island, Fla.; her loyal, adoring dogs, Harley and Roxie; sisters, Carolyn Simone of Smith Pond, Judith Tapley of Millinocket, Brenda Allen of Alfred, Debra Neal of Millinocket and Joy McEwen of Millinocket; brothers, John Allen of Millinocket and Richard Smiley Allen of East Millinocket; many caring aunts and uncles; special nieces and nephews; her amazing Florida family, the Hilemans and the Johnstons; many loving neighbors, friends and coworkers from Florida, and lifelong friends from Millinocket. Holly was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert Rob Johansen; their beloved son, Ryan Michael Johansen; parents, Gene and Dodo Allen; and infant sister, Lyla Beth Allen.
Holly began her career in the newspaper industry during her high school years. She remained in this industry until her passing and worked as a marketing coordinator with the Treasure Coast Newspapers/Stuart News. She lived life to its fullest. She enjoyed traveling, camping, boating, fishing, going to concerts and the Daytona 500. Holly had a profound adoration for her immediate and extended families. She was always generous with her time and her gifts to others. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
There will be an informal and casual celebration of Holly's life at the Indian RiverSide Park - Dockside Pavilion 2nd Floor in Jensen Beach, Fla., on August 25, 2016, at 6 p.m. Additionally, there will be a Johansen family committal service in Millinocket at a later date to be determined.
