- Hollis S. Hallett Sr., 92, passed away peacefully July 11, 2017. He was born July 12, 1924, in Monticello, the son of Henry and Isabelle (Cook) Hallett.
Hollis worked for B and A Buses as well as Bean and Conquest as a mechanic. He also severed in the U.S Army during World War II. In later years woodworking became one of his favorite pass times. Hollis was a member of the Eagles Club and the VFW. He never missed a Friday night of dancing at the singles club.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sons, Hollis Hallett Jr. and Harold Hallett; his sisters, Henrietta Todd, Myrtle "Molly" Ball, and Muretta Golding; and his brother, Afton Hallett. Hollis is survived by his significant other, Monique Dow; his sons, Roy and his wife, Kathleen, Earl and his wife, Sherry, David and his wife, Hazel, Mark and his wife, Debbie; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be private for the family.
