Hervey's Story

DIXMONT - Hervey E. Cottrell, 89, died Friday Oct. 23, 2015 at a Dexter health care facility following a short illness.

He was born in Dixmont, Sept 3, 1926 the son of Hervey B. and Lillian (Grant) Cottrell. Hervey attended a Machinist Trade School in Washington County where he learned his life long career passion. He is survived by his nephew/surrogate son and his wife Thomas and Lois Rowe of Dixmont, several nieces and nephews including, Sandra and Skip Pierce of Lowell, great nieces, Katie and Ben Cloutier of Litchfield, Lindsey and Russ Coplin of Fairbanks, Alaska. He was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers; Mary Waning, Clara Walton, Melvin Murphy, and Woodrow Cottrell who he made his home with until "Woody's" death in June of 2013.

The family sends special thanks to the Burger King gang in Newport for all their love and support. Hervey was a regular there every day.
