Herman's Story

Fort Kent - Herman Deprey, 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family August 30, 2016 at a Fort Kent Health Care Facility. He was born in Wallagrass January 3, 1936 the son of Mack and Blanche (Lamarre) Deprey.
Herman will be remembered as a very hard worker, he loved farming, spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid outdoors man, enjoyed fishing, hunting, ATV riding, camping, and snowmobiling. Loved his dog "Peaches".
Herman worked on his farm and Loring Air Force Base plowing snow during the winter months and also plowed snow for the Town of New Canada. He was a Eucharistic Minister for over 20 years at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wallagrass. He was a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Council #0352 of Fort Kent. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Rena (Voisine) Deprey of New Canada. One son, Darcy and his wife Sylvie Deprey and one Daughter Dara and her husband Jean Landry all of New Canada. Two grandchildren; Kenny Deprey and his companion Priscilla Dionne, Danny and his wife Michelle Deprey. Four great-grandchildren; Gavin, Danalie, Karter and Alivia. Three sisters; Priscilla and her husband Reynold Daigle, Linda Berube, Deanna Charette, and a close brother-in-law Gerald Desjardins. He is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents Herman was predeceased by two sisters; Cecilia Stadig and Patsy Desjardins, two brothers-in-law; Miff Berube and Ronnie Dumond.
Friends may call Friday September 2, 2016 from 8 to 10:45 a.m. at the Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 am. Friday with Fourth Degree Honors at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal services will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Wallagrass. Those who wish in Herman's memory may donate to the Forest Hill Manor Activities Fund, 25 Bolduc Ave, Fort Kent, Me. 04743, Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
