Helen's Story

BANGOR - Helen Ann (Goggin) Chorba Woods passed away peacefully April 7, 2015, at a Bangor hospital after a long illness. She was born Sept. 22, 1941, in Calais, daughter of the late Joseph Goggin and Anna Foster. Helen lived most of her life in Bangor as a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her half brother, Stephen Foster; husband, Lowell Woods; and daughter, Connie Towles. She will be fondly remembered by her special friend, David. She is also survived by her daughter, Laura McKee and husband, Phil, of Washington state, grandchildren, Cody and Adam, great-grandchildren, Rowan Ellis, son, Blaine Chorba of Florida and granddaughter, Mackenzie Lommel; daughter, Annie Bodner and husband, Alan, of Washington state and grandchildren, Olivia and Hayden; son-in-law, Thob Towles of Ohio and grandchildren, Taylor and Ally; daughter, Rangell and husband, Shawn Wallen, of Washington state and grandchildren, Katie and Matthew; daughter, Shauna Woods of Bangor and grandchildren, Damen, Hailey and Kadin; stepfather, Maynard Foster of Ripley; siblings, Mary and Gary Wentworth of South Carolina, John Goggin of Sangerville and Jo-Ann and Thomas Kitchen of Pittsfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Burial will be held at a later date at Morse Corner Cemetery in Corinna.
