- Helen McNeal Weller, 90, passed away peacefully at home Monday, May 8. Helen was born February 21, 1927 to Archie and Lucille Rogers in Presque Isle, Maine.
She was preceded in death by her beloved first husband, Bernard "Bud" McNeal and her second husband Paul Weller. She was also predeceased by her sister Phyllis Brown Dow. Helen is survived by four daughters; Judy McNeal, Jane DuBois (David), Jill Andrews (Otto Hough) (all of Tallahassee), Janice Lagasse (Gulf Breeze) and two sons; John McNeal (Cindy) (Holden, Maine) and Jeffrey McNeal (Broomfield, Colorado). She also has four grandchildren; Paul DuBois (Tiffany), Paige Didier (Joe), Meagan Lagasse - Van Der lei (Harry) and Emily Atchison (Donnie). Helen is also survived by three great grandsons; Clayton and Justin Didier and Cole DuBois as well as by two great granddaughters; Amelia Atchison and Ava DuBois.
Helen and her beloved "Bud" moved south to Florida from Caribou, Maine in 1976 upon his retirement from the U.S. Postal Service. During their time in Caribou, Helen had a lengthy career in nursing including many years at Cary Memorial Hospital while raising six children all the while. Over the past thirty-six years she has lived in Tallahassee. She is a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
A graveside service will be held June 3rd, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Culley's MeadowWood. In Lieu of flowers, Helen's wish is for donations be made in her memory to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL, 32308 or the Diocese of Norwich, CT, Diocsean Outreach of Haiti, Inc.
