Harvey's Story

BREWER - Harvey V. "Bud" Burns, 81, died Dec. 17, 2014 in Brewer after a lengthy illness with his family at his side. He was born Mar. 27, 1933 in Boston, MA, the son of Aylmer M. (Wallace) Burns. Bud, as he was known, was a Korean War veteran having served with the US Marine Corps. He worked for many years as an automobile mechanic and worked for Joel Dearborn and Laurence Willey maintaining and managing properties. He was also a lifetime member of the BPOE, Lodge #244, Bangor.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 60 years, Beatrice "Bea" Burns of Brewer are three children, Vickie Deacon of Brewer, Harvey "Buddy" Burns and his wife, Nancy of Eddington and Craig Burns of Brewer; six grandchildren, Jennifer Benson and her husband, Anders of Kingfield, Roy Burns of Los Angeles, CA, Craig "CJ" Burns of Brewer, Thomas Burns of Eddington, Jesse Burns of Brewer and Josiah Burns of Bangor; one great grandson, Stig Benson of Kingfield; two sisters, Betty Burgess and her husband, Dallas of Bangor and Donna Dumont and her husband, James of Corinth; a special cousin, Ivan Wallace and his wife, Patricia of Dover-Foxcroft; a special aunt, Viola Kimball of Ocala, FL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Henry Burns.

Family and friends may visit 4 - 7 PM Monday, Dec. 22, 2014 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. Burial with military honors will be held in the spring.
