Harry's Story

BROWNVILLE, ME AND BRADENTON, FL - Harry George Ade, 69, passed away in the arms of his loving wife on Wednesday, December 17, 2014. He was born in Passaic, New Jersey on July 21, 1945, the beloved first-born son of the late Harry and Victoria Ade.

Harry's life's work was in the hospitality industry. He was the consummate entrepreneur operating hotels and restaurants. His exuberant personality, whether behind the check-in desk or behind the bar, insured success and a following of dedicated patrons. In 1965, he met the love of his life, Jean Politz, and they married in 1972. Together they were a dynamite team, with Harry working the front of the house and Jean managing the books. Over the years, with his brothers, they owned and operated several establishments, including AJ's, the Riversedge, the Heritage Motor Lodge, the Phenix Inn and the Pamola Motor Lodge. Harry loved to hunt, fish and cruise in his float boat at his favorite place on earth, Schoodic Lake.

Harry is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jean (Politz) Ade; his brother and best friend, Richard C. Ade and wife Lisa of Portsmouth, NH; his sister Victoria Sciarello and husband Rich of Lincoln Park, NJ; He was the much loved "Uncle Har" and the voice of Santa Clause each Christmas and will be sadly missed by his nieces, Victoria Kohut and husband Bill and children William and Megan of Lincoln Park, NJ; Chrissy Sciarello of Lincoln Park, NJ; Kristen Ade of Portsmouth, NH and nephews Bob Ade and wife Alyson and children Ainsley, Ashton, Beckham, Balack and Aiya of Milo, ME; Richard J. Ade and wife Maria of Bradenton, FL; and his surrogate sons, Arthur and Roland Hathorn, along with the entire Politz family.
