Harriet's Story

DEER ISLE - Early Sunday morning, April 12, 2015, Harriet Marie Barbour Heanssler went home to be with the Lord. She was born on her father's birthday, May 7, 1927 in Portland, ME.

She attended Portland schools until high school, when she attended Deer Isle High School. A home maker, Harriet was busy with four children, church and art. Later she became the Secretary for the family business Conary Cove Lobster Company.

Harriet was predeceased by her brother Donald, her sisters Elizabeth, and Carolyn and a grandson Jason.

She is survived by her husband Basil and four children: David and his wife Betty, daughter Kathy, son Nelson and wife Valerie, son Charles and wife Trudy. Grandchildren: Julie Soucy and her husband Timothy, Lisa Traylor and her husband John, Nicole Marie Heath, Thomas Haynes and his wife Mailen, Ann Marie Young and husband David, Benjamin Heanssler and his wife Sarah, Miicah Heanssler

and his fiance Amanda, and Joshua Heanssler plus eleven great grand children.

Harriet married Basil right out of high school and made their home in Sunshine on Deer Isle. She was a wonderful mother and wife and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 16, at the Sunshine Advent Christian Church at 2:00 p.m. Visiting hours will be the the night before on the 15th at the

Sunshine AC Church between 6:00 and 8:00 pm.
