Harold's Story

WEST HARFORD, CT - Harold (Harry) Sedlik, 84, of West Harford, CT son of Frank and Fannie (Klanek) Sedlik, passed away on September 18, 2014 with his devoted wife by his side. Harry was a retired machine tool engineer, author of a technical book and many articles for professional journals. As a second career, he was owner of Sedlik Realty for many years. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Harry enjoyed spending his summer on the Daigle family farm in Madawaska, ME. He was inspired by his experiences there to write about life in rural Maine, especially for Echoes Magazine. He cherished his time with Candide, sitting by the pond, riding his tractor, breathing in sunsets and enjoying their many visitors. His last book is a memoir of 45 years on the farm. Besides his wife of 53 years, he is survived by his sister, Helen DeLong, brother William, several sisters/brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Mary and Julie, brothers George, Frank and Edward. Funeral services will be Tuesday, at 9:30 a.m. from the Molloy Funeral Home 906 Farmington Ave. West Hartford, CT, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Claver Church, West Hartford. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Friends and family may call TODAY from 4-7 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
