CORAL SPRINGS - Coral Springs, FL - Gregory O Needham, 62, of Coral Springs, FL, passed away on October 27, 2014 at North Broward County Medical Center from injuries sustained in a tragic accident. He was born October 2, 1952 in Bangor, Maine, son of the late Richard P. Needham and Edwina (Osgood) Needham. Greg graduated from John Bapst High School of Bangor in 1971 and attended the University of Maine at Orono.
Throughout his career, he progressed through many positions in the energy sector. Most recently, Greg served as Director of Fuel Programs for the Sunshine State Biomass Cooperative, a dream job for Greg and the fruit of several years of hard work, research, and planning with his partners. Greg was always warm and friendly, and had a welcoming smile for everyone. He was remembered by his co-workers and business partners for his loving nature coupled with a tenacious work ethic.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Rebecca "Becky", three sons Patrick Needham of Bellevue, NE, and his wife Nikki, Daniel Needham of Palm Beach Gardens, Fl., and Nathan Needham of San Antonio, Tx. ; two daughters, Tiffany Thomas and her husband Zachary of Dallas, TX, and Tara Tropea of San Antonio,TX. ; 6 grandchildren Kristian and Trevor Needham, Kayla and Collin Tropea and Layton and Ellery Thomas; brother, Jeffrey Needham and his wife Terri of Trenton; two sisters, Brenda Eddy and husband Dana of Auburn, Lisa Leonard and her husband Kent of Holden; and his mother Edwina Needham of Holden; and many nieces and nephews. There will be a private family memorial at a later time.
