Grace's Story

MILO - Grace G. Decker, 92, wife of the late Woodrow W. Decker, passed away September 21, 2015, at her residence. She was born April 7, 1923, in Calais, the daughter of Arthur Sylvester and Marion Edna (Boyd) Greenlaw.

Grace had worked for many years at Eastern Maine Medical Center as the head registered dietician. Her many friends will attest to her caring and compassionate heart. She left her special touch with all who knew her. Grace was loved by her family and friends, and she is now at home with her Lord.

She is survived by a granddaughter, Kim Hammer and her husband, Dwayne, of Virginia; two sisters, Ann Brown and her husband, Jim, of Houlton, and Jean Decker and her husband, Bob, of New Hampshire; many loving nieces and nephews; and her "adopted" son and daughter, Steve and Christine Poitras of Ft. Fairfield. Grace's family extends a heartfelt thank-you to the special caregivers who surrounded her with love.

Friends are invited to call from 11am until time of service at 1pm Saturday, September 26, 2015, at the United Baptist Church of Milo, with Pastor Phil McGlauflin officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Milo. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Baptist Church of Milo, 8 Pleasant Street, Milo 04463.
