GREENVILLE - Goldie May Carpenter, 100, passed away peacefully, Thursday, December 11, 2014, at C.A. Dean in Greenville. She was born October 15, 1914, in Kingsbury Plantation, the daughter of Cecil and Eva (Campbell) Ames.
At the age of 16 she moved to Greenville along with her parents and 2 brothers, Rex and Donald. She married Charles "Bud" Carpenter and together they raised 9 children. Goldie was known locally as the "Moose Lady" as she was always looking for moose along the roadways. She loved fishing, hunting, flowers, riding on the "Kate", and just being outside. Oh yes, and gardening; remember "Big Goldie's Little Greenhouse".
Goldie is being sent love by her 3 sons, Stanley and his wife, Constance, Wayne and his wife, Linda, and Carl and his wife, Cheryl; her 2 daughters, Faye Davidson and her companion, Bill, and Lynne Giroux and her husband, Bill; and her 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015, at the People's United Methodist Church in Greenville Jct., with a luncheon to follow. She will be missed by all her family; rest in peace, Mom. In lieu of flowers, donations in Goldie's name may be sent to C.A. Dean Nursing Home, P.O. Box 1129, Greenville, ME 04441.
