- Glenda G. (Arnold) Brackett, 81, passed away on December 17, 2016 surrounded by her loving family, she now joins her late husband of 60 years, John A. Brackett Sr.
Glenda was born January 17, 1935, the daughter of Ralph and Hortense (Stanhope) Arnold. Glenda was the mother of 6 children whom she and John raised spending time in both Connecticut and Maine. Glenda worked for the US Postal Service in Monroe, CT retiring after 30 years of service. She and John moved back to Bradford, ME.
Glenda loved spending time with her family. Many memories include long snowmobile trips and kayak rides she enjoyed with her family. She also found joy tending her vegetable and flower gardens. When she wasn't enjoying the outdoor she was inside keeping busy with reading, puzzling and watching the birds or collecting recipes.
Glenda was a faithful member of the Bradford Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She is survived by her children, Sherral DeVellis and husband Peppy, Hortense Criscione and husband Richard, Kathy Dow and husband Jeff, John Brackett Jr. and Kerry, Melody Bartomeli and husband Tom, Andrew Brackett and wife Lisa; nephew, Allen Chase and wife Bonnie whom was thought of as a son. Glenda is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; brother, Earland "Unckie" and wife Jeanette Arnold; sisters, Hilda Chase and Helen Brasselett; a special sister-in-law, Marice Arnold; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband John; grandsons, Gulio DeVellis and Joey Criscione; son-in-law, William Mackey; grandson-in-law, Jarrod Harvey; 2 brothers, Errold and Durward Arnold; and sister, Loretta Chase.
A memorial service will be held at 3pm Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Bradford Baptist Church, 461 Main Rd, Bradford with the Rev. Donald Booker. There will be a time of friendship at 2:30 before the services. Burial in May.
