CHESHIRE, CT - Glen C. Dean, 81, of Cheshire, beloved husband of the late Nancy Caton Dean for over 56 years, died peacefully, Monday, June 29, 2015 at MidState Medical Center in Meriden, CT.
Glen was born in Littleton, Maine, July 25, 1933, a son of the late Murray Dean and Shirley Hammond Dean and had been a Madison resident for many years until recently moving to Cheshire. Glen was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He had been employed by the North Haven Board of Education as a math teacher at North Haven High School for many years, where he also served as head of the Math Department. Glen will be remembered for the love and devotion he had for his family, enjoying a game of golf, or a simple plain cheeseburger and ice cream.
He is survived by his children Melissa Humphrey of New Hartford, David Dean and his wife Cathy of Wallingford, and Megan Georgio and her husband Michael of Rhode Island; his son-in-law Gary Carskaddan of Massachusetts; his grandchildren Sara Humphrey Celebiler and husband Emre, Ryan, Zachary, Emily and Lindsay Humphrey, Michael, Taylor, and Brenna Dean, Adam and Paige Carskaddan and Dalton Georgio; his great grandchild Eren Celebiler; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Barbara Carskaddan and his brother Perley Dean.
A private graveside service and interment will be held in Summer Hill Cemetery in Madison, CT. There will be no calling hours.
