BANGOR - Gladys M. (Soper) Belodeau, 100, of Bangor, Maine, formerly of Bucksport, Maine, and Waltham, Massachusetts, passed away February 5, 2015, at a Bangor Hospital. Born in Bucksport, she was the daughter of the late Edna (Bishop) and Carlton P. Soper.

Gladys retired from the Middlesex County Court System. She entertained her family with her passion for singing and yodeling and her love of dancing. She participated in all activities at Winterberry Heights and at the tender age of 99 took up Wii bowling and Zumba. She truly loved going to the Rod and Gun Club for the family Thanksgiving dinners, anniversary parties and birthday celebrations, including her own 100th birthday party.

If Gladys could, she would thank her sister, Ethel Lindsey, for the love and support she had given her. Ethel was her dance partner, lunch sharer, bingo player, hairdresser, chauffeur, nurse, fashion coordinator and her very best friend.

Grammie is survived by her three granddaughters, Carol (Markie) Pelletier and her husband, David, Wanda (Markie) Fedesco and Paula Markie, along with seven great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandsons. She leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Gay Belodeau; many nieces, nephews; and a special cousin, Jennie.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leo; her two children, Kathleen (Dunbar) Markie and Carlton Belodeau; and her sisters, Alice Clair, Doris Clair, Carlotta Hewey and Ada Snow.

Visiting hours will be 4-6 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm Street, Bucksport, where a memorial service will be held on Friday, February 13, at 11 a.m. A reception will followed at the Rod and Gun Club, Buck Mill Road, Bucksport. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in Gladys' name to Hillside Cemetery Association Perpetual Care, 43 US Highway 1, Verona Island, ME 04416 or to the Activities Director at Winterberry Heights, 932 Ohio Street, Bangor, ME 04401. www.mitchelltweedie-young.com
