Gilles's Story

MILLINOCKET - Gilles Louis Joseph Pelletier, 57, died unexpectedly at his home in Millinocket, January 24, 2015. Gil was born in Millinocket November 25, 1957, the son of Emile and Isabelle (Clavet) Pelletier.

Gil grew up in Millinocket, graduating from Stearns High School, class of 1977. He went to work at Great Northern Paper for 12 years. Later he delivered welding supplies which sparked his interest in welding and pipe fitting. He went to work for Cianbro for a number of years, working on local construction projects as well as traveling around doing similar projects. Gil loved spending time hunting and fishing, especially with his son, Gene. They spent memorable times at places such as Pittston Farm, Telos, and Nesowadnehunk. Gil was a proud member of the BPOE Elks Lodge #1521, volunteering for many activities with them. His son, Gene, is his greatest legacy.

Gil is survived by his son, Gene Pelletier; brother Nelson Pelletier and wife Andrea; friend Wendy Farquhar; and his best friend Arnie Pulkkinen. In addition to his parents, Gil was predeceased by his brother Gene Pelletier in 1964.
