MILO - Gilbert C. Mann Jr., 81, husband of the late Madeline (Richards) Mann, passed away May 20, 2014, at home. He was born Nov. 25, 1932, in Dexter, the son of Gilbert C. and Florence (Badger) Mann.
Gilbert proudly served his country with the U.S. Army in Korea. A long time resident of Milo, he had worked at Striar Woolen Mill in Corinna for many years.
He is survived by a daughter, Sherry Bartlett of Milo; a son, Danny Mann and wife, Cindy, of Milo; 7 step-children, Paul Towle, Tammy Bailey, Kenny Towle, Nancy Meuse and husband, Steve, Arthur Bailey, Margie Stone and husband, Bob, and Joseph Guerrette and wife, Carol; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a special step-great-granddaughter, Britney Testagrossa; and a sister, May Giles. He was predeceased by his wife, Madeline; a daughter, Gilda Mann; three brothers, Roland, Linwood, and Edwin; and two sisters, Beverly Larrabee and Anita Woodbury.
Gilbert's family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. John Shannon, to the Hospice workers for their unfailing care, to Pastor Babcock and his wife for their comfort and prayers, and to a special home health worker, Missy Collins, who loved Gilbert very much.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, at the Lary Funeral Home, Milo. Burial with military honors will be in the family lot in Puddledock Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
