Gertrude's Story

PASSADUMKEAG - Gertrude W. Tourtillotte, 97, wife of the late Charles Roger Tourtillotte, passed away Feb. 4, 2015, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born July 15, 1917, in Passadumkeag, the daughter of Harry and Lovina (Tourtillotte) Walker.

Gertrude was a member of the Passadumkeag Grange, the Passadumkeag Historical Society and the Howland Methodist Church.

She is survived by five children, Larry Evans and his partner, Jean Barrows, and Robert and Joan Evans of Vero Beach, Florida, Patricia Cole and her partner, Robert Provencher, of Bangor, Kathy and Earl Squiers of Howland, and Bonita Tourtillotte of Juneau, Alaska; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Harry Walker Jr.; and a grandson, Troy Nason. The family would like to thank the staff at Kindred Westgate for the care given to Gertrude.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at Gould's Ridge Cemetery. Those who wish may donate in her memory to Kindred Westgate Activities fund. Those who wish may sign an online register and leave written condolences at
