Gerald's Story

Danforth - Gerald L. Allen Sr. passed away September 15, 2016. He was born April 10, 1932, to Guy L. and Vallie (Faulkner) Allen.
He worked in the woods with his father and brother before going to work for the railroad from which he retired. Gerald was a Seventh degree Granger and was a member of The Grand Lake Grange.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Jackie; a son, Dennis; brother, Elwood; and sisters, Joyce and Carolyn and her husband, Guy Ellingwood. He is survived by sons, Daren of Mattawamkeag and Gerald and his wife, Christine; 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; sister, Reta; a brother, Kenneth Carr; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Clay Funeral Home-Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Road, Danforth, with the Rev Maurice Gray officiating. Interment will be at Danforth Hilltop Cemetery.
