Georgia's Story

West Enfield - Georgia M. (Burgoyne) Hallett, passed away peacefully at home, October 17, 2016, at the age of 87. Born June 26, 1929, to Stan and Julia Hazel (Laing) Burgoyne, her life was filled with music, family, and good times.
Georgia was known for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, always keeping everyone's spirits elevated. Music was her life! Brought up in a family of musicians, they would gather regularly to play and sing which would fill the home with a wonderful sound. For many years, Georgia served the Lord by playing the organ with the choir for every Sunday Mass at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Howland. She so enjoyed the company of her friends and fellow musicians. On January 28, 1950, she married Frederick Hallett (later made famous by Hallett Door and Window) and together they spent a wonderful 60 years together raising five children: Christine and Stephen Cummings, Carla and Kevin Leland, Frederick (Peter) Hallett, Jr and Jonnie Harris, Patricia and Richard Lindsay and Joseph Hallett. Additionally, they were blessed with eleven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She felt fortunate to be part of a large family and loved her brothers and sisters left behind: Sisters, Janelle and Robin Swanson, Jeannie and Pat Carney, Michelle Burgoyne and Jana Burgoyne; brothers, John and Nancy Burgoyne and Stanley Burgoyne and Erik Mabry; many special nieces and nephews from the Burgoyne, Hallett, Bernard families. Georgia was predeceased by her parents, her step-mother Verna Soucier Burgoyne, her husband, sister, Patricia Carrier and brother Roscoe Burgoyne.
Friends may visit with her family from 9-10:30 a.m., Thursday October 20, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln, after which a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Howland, with the Rev.
