BANGOR - George Francis McCann, 81, died peacefully June 5, 2016, at the Maine Veterans' Home, Bangor. He was born October 9, 1934, in Boston, MA, son of Francis R. and Dorothy A. (Fitzherbert) McCann.
George was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He had been an active member of the Bangor Community Theater and a former radio announcer in Bangor. George had also been a bus driver for Greyhound in Boston.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Betty McCann, are his six children, Denise, Paula, Pam, Amy, Susan and Doug; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2016, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John's Catholic, 207 York Street, Bangor followed by the Rite of Committal at the Riverside Cemetery, Orono.
