- HOLDEN, Maine - Gayle Elizabeth Littlefield, 66, died January 23, 2017, at home surrounded by her family and friends.
Gayle was born in Bangor, Maine, to William H. Hincks and Julia B. (Robinson) Hincks. She attended Brewer High School and graduated in 1968. Gayle married Timothy P. Littlefield; this July 1st would have been their 50th wedding anniversary.
Gayle began working at Eastern Maine Medical Center in 1968. Her career at EMMC and EMHS spanned 47 years, in which she earned the regard of many. She retired from EMHS in July 2015.
Gayle enjoyed her family and friends, gardening, travelling, hunting, fishing, reading, football, Nascar, and quilting. She was also actively involved in Beta Sigma Phi for 33 years.
Gayle is survived by her husband, Timothy Littlefield, daughter Dynnise Littlefield, sons Timothy Littlefield, Jr., and Scott Littlefield and his wife Ashleigh Morse, children-by-choice George Staples, Jake Martin, and John Negron, grandchildren Julia Littlefield, Parker Littlefield, Alexandra Littlefield, and Sophie Littlefield, sisters Allison Diane (Hincks) Edwards, husband Gary Edwards, and Sally Hincks-Bolton, husband Robert Bolton, a very special sister-in-law Kathleen Sproul, and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to especially thank Gayle's sisters of Beta Sigma Phi for their help, love, and kindness, and also the caring staff of Hospice of Eastern Maine.
A Celebration of Life will be held January 29th, 1:30-5:00 pm, at Jeff's Catering in Brewer, ME. A short service will start at 2:00 pm, after which friends and family will be welcome to share memories of Gayle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Hospice of Eastern Maine.
