PRESQUE ISLE - Garol B. Carmichael, 79, passed away on Wednesday morning April 8, 2015 at the Aroostook Medical Center. He was born on January 28, 1936 in Presque Isle, the son of Malcolm and Hazel (Dyer) Carmichael. Garol arrived at "The Farm" in April 1958 where he grew foundation and certified seed potatoes. He was awarded the Central Aroostook Soil & Water Conservation Farmer of the Year Award in 1984. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Presque Isle for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Jean (Wilson) Carmichael of Presque Isle, his children and their spouses; Robin Carter and Jim of Presque Isle, Terry Kilcollins and Wayne of Presque Isle, Stephanie Carmichael of Presque Isle, Kim Carmichael of Colorado Springs, CO, Matthew Carmichael of Presque Isle and his fiancée Sara Caines of Florenceville-Bristol, New Brunswick; his grandchildren Seth Cronkite, Kristen Kilcollins, Jordan Carmichael, Phillip Burns, Eric Burns, Lane Carmichael and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Maxine Patten.
He was predeceased by an infant son, Christopher Todd, brothers Keith, Ronald, Duane and a sister Beverly Harding.

Friends may call 1PM Saturday April 11, 2015 at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home 30 Church St. Presque Isle where funeral services will be held at 2PM with Rev. Christopher Dare officiating. Interment will be later this spring at Johnson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the G.I.F.T. food pantry, Martha & Mary's Soup Kitchen or a charity of one's choice.
