BANGOR - Galen G. Furge, 72, unexpectedly went to be with his Lord on February 8, 2015. He was born February 6, 1943, in Bangor the son of Granville and Ruth (Curtis) Furge.
Galen graduated from Bangor High School. He was a long standing member of the Bangor Baptist Church. Until his health prevented he worked in retail throughout his life in stores such as Kings and Woolworths and other department stores. Galen was a jack of all trades and could help with about anything.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Elaine Furge; step-children, Delight and husband Jimmy, Lynn, Jennifer, Daniel and wife Chantelle, Evangeline; siblings, Lorraine Davis and husband Dave, Willie Furge and wife Bunny, Phyllis Wilson; two special nephews and their family, Duane and David Furge. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Maynard Furge.
Relatives and friends may call from 2-3 PM, Sunday, February 15, at Bangor Baptist Church, 1476 Broadway, Bangor, with a funeral service to be held at 3 PM, with Rev. Dr. Jerry Mick, presiding. A reception will follow the funeral service at the church. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
