FORT KENT - Freda (Michaud) Marquis, 72, died peacefully February 6, 2016, at a Fort Kent Health Care Facility with family by her side. She was born in Fort Kent January 16, 1944, the daughter of Fabien and Elizabeth (Theriault) Michaud.
Freda was a member of the Fort Kent Ladies of St. Anne. She enjoyed knitting, puzzles, reading and especially spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy and her husband Raymond Cyr of Fort Kent; two sons, James Marquis of Englewood, Colo., and Glen and his wife Nancy Marquis of Fort Kent; grandchildren, Brittany Marquis, Sonia and her husband Lucas Jarrett, Katie Bard, Kyle, and Chelsey Marquis; 2 great-grandsons, Edison and Connor; her sister, Amanda Dumais of Plainville, Ct.; and a very special friend, Ida Daigle of Fort Kent. She is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by 8 brothers and 6 sisters.
Friends may call February 9th, Tuesday from 9 am until time of service at the Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Tuesday at the St. Louis Catholic Church. Spring burial will be held in the parish cemetery on May 10th.
