EAST MILLINOCKET - Frank G. Wallace, 86, passed away Monday, April 11, 2016 at a Lincoln hospital. He was born May 10, 1929 in Howland, the son of James G. and Ellen (Lugdon) Wallace.
Frank was a graduate of Howland High School, class of 1948. After graduation he went to work at the Great Northern Paper Company in East Millinocket, where he worked in the Boiler House for 39 years.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his wartime service, he married Alice Day on June 18, 1955, and they remained together, celebrating their 60th anniversary last June. Frank was a member of Nollesemic Lodge #205, A.F. & A.M. in Millinocket, where he was a past master, and he was also a member of the Anah Shrine.
Frank is survived by his wife, Alice, of East Millinocket; two sisters, Ellen Danforth of Carmel and Gloria Jones of Millinocket; a brother, Ronald Wallace and his wife Jeanne of Passadumkeag; a sister in law, Florence Wallace of Meriden, Connecticut; and many favorite nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by special friends, Bob Mckenzie and Don Hendsbee. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers, Gerald Wallace, Lennie Wallace and his wife Geraldine, Sheldon Wallace and his wife Alice, and Bill Wallace and his wife Celia; two sisters, Theresa Jarvis and her husband Sonny, and Rita Flemming, and a brother in law, Charles Jones.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at the East Millinocket Cemetery in the springtime. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home.
