- Francis W. Stegner passed away in Venice, Florida, at the age of 84, with his loving wife by his side, on December 26, 2016. Francis was born in Chicago, IL on November 23, 1932.
He served our country as a pilot in the Air Force and retired as a Major while stationed at Loring AFB in Limestone, ME. Prior to moving to Florida, Francis lived in the Limestone/Caribou area, where he operated Century 21 Realty for many years. He was a member of MOAA, AFA, Rotary, and was a 4th degree Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus in Venice, FL.
Francis is survived by his wife, Therese (Ouellet); his daughters, Dianna (Michael) Fife, Vivian (Dennis) Johnston, Catherine (Ken) Nacey; a brother, Richard; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and six nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Mark; his parents, Walter and Helen; his sisters, Rosemary, Dolores and Irene.
A memorial service will be held on January 17 at 10:30 am, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1301 Center Rd, Venice, FL. Interment will be held in St. David, ME, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, or the Knights of Columbus, at the same address as the church.
