Frances's Story

BANGOR - Frances May "Gram" Murphy, 86, passed away peacefully January 26, 2015, at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 7, 1928, in Jonesboro, the daughter of Almer and Emma (Floyd) Chambers.

Frances enjoyed working and taking care of her family. She worked for Sylvania for many years where she had many friends. Frances made a wonderful banana bread. More than anything her family was her life and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children; Patricia Vincent of Bangor, James Murphy and wife Janice of Glenburn, Rose Thurston and significant other Peter of Newport, Joe Murphy of Glenburn; a brother, Almer Chambers Jr. and wife Ellie of Brewer; a sister, Ethel Angelo of Conn., seven grandchildren, Barbara, Mary, Joe, Heather, Lisa, Tammy, and Terry; fifteen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of life gathering at 12 PM, Noon, on Saturday, Jan. 31, at the home of Frances's, 116 4th Street, Apt #2, in Bangor.
