- Everest 'Sonny' Doucette, age 78, died Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Westgate Center in Bangor. He passed peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Born on May 26, 1938, the son of Everett and Lillian (Ouellette) Doucette he grew up in Bucksport and later worked at the Paper Mill for many years until his retirement.
Sonny was predeceased by his beloved wife Delcina (Johnson) with whom he lived in Orland for many years. He is survived by his children, Julianne Doucette, Everest Doucette, Bruce Doucette, Renee Overlock, and Christopher Doucette; as well as his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sonny enjoyed hunting, fishing, and rides on his motorcycle and during the years after his wife's passing, time reading and going on drives to Bangor.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2017, from 2 - 4 p.m. at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm Street, Bucksport. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 20, 2017, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Bucksport.
