Harrington and Fort Fairfield - Eva G. Dorr, 85, wife of the late Embert A. Dorr, passed away Sunday afternoon, March 5, 2017, at a Mars Hill healthcare facility, following an extended illness. She was born December 14, 1931, in Harrington, the daughter of Shirley and Myrtle (Huntley) Grace.
She was a graduate of the Harrington High School and went on to further her education at the Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute, Presque Isle, where she received her certificate as a CNA. She had been employed at the Fort Fairfield Community General Hospital for many years and at Narraguagus Bay Healthcare in Milbridge for a number of years. She was married to Embert A. Dorr on December 15, 1952, she and Embert resided in Fort Fairfield for many years, prior to returning to Coastal Maine.
In addition to her parents, Eva was predeceased by her husband, Embert, in 1994. She is survived by three sons, Barry E. Dorr and his wife, Mary of Mars Hill, Brian E. Dorr and his wife, Donna of Severna Park, Maryland, Bruce S. Dorr and his companion, Edith Helstrom of Fort Fairfield; five grandchildren, Jennifer Boyd of Mars Hill, Christopher Dorr of Texas, Benjamin Dorr of Caribou, Alesha Esplana-Flores of Texas, Ryan Dorr of Maryland; seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; several special friends, including, Maggie Cloney Kelley of Florida, Myrna Thompson of Cherryfield, Norma Dow of Milbridge, Edwina Beal, Lorraine Curtis and Merton Bagley, all of Harrington, Delly McLain of Steuben.
A graveside service will be conducted at Mailey Hill Cemetery, Columbia, Maine at a later date. Those who wish may contribute in Eva's memory to Maine Seacoast Mission, 6 Weald Bethel Lane, Cherryfield, Maine 04622.
