Eula's Story

PRESQUE ISLE AND AUGUSTA - Eula Edna Lovely, 82, passed away Sunday morning, May 4, 2014 at Maine General Rehabilitation and Long Term Care at Glenridge in Augusta. She was born in Tilley, New Brunswick, Canada, March 30, 1932, the daughter of John and Vella Jane Smith of Greenfield, NB.

She married Frank Lovely and moved to Mapleton where they raised their family. She went on to earn a Licensed Practical Nursing Degree at NMCC, graduating in 1974. She worked at The Aroostook Medical Center for several years before becoming a member of the first accelerated RN program, graduating in 1983. She remained at TAMC until early retirement due to ill health. Eula was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus, Presque Isle from 1965 until 2002, when she moved to Augusta to be near her daughters. She then became a member of Family Worship Center, Augusta until her health made it impossible.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie Archer and her husband, Mike of Augusta, son, Frank (Mike) and his wife, Anita of Mapleton, daughter, Carrie Anderson and her husband, Eric of Augusta, son, Raymond David and his wife, Karen of Mapleton, son, Kim and his wife, Johna of Presque Isle, daughter, Kathy Kennedy and her husband, Mike of Kennebunk, 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, brothers, Havelock and friend, Gail of Caribou, Clarence and his wife, Janet of Greenfield, NB; and several nieces and nephews. Eula was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Frank, son, Carl, brother, Lorne, infant sister, Alberta and granddaughter, Erin.

Friends may call 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with Pastors Dale Nason and Ronald LaPointe officiating.
